How To Increase the Loading Speed of Your Blog

In this post I'm going to share my experiences on increasing the loading speed of my blog. Many blogger's have problem about the loading time on their blog. They have problems with their slow loading speed. But why a blog load slowly. Mainly it depends on where you host your blog or how you decorate it.

There are so many advantages of increasing the loading speed of your blog. If it takes a long time to load your blog, many visitors will leave your blog  before they have the chance to read it. The speed at which your blog loads can attract the visitors easily. It also attracts the visitors to read another post on your blog and visit again. Loading speed in another good factor in search engine optimization.

Here are some tips that will help you to increase your blog loading speed and attract more visitors to your blog :

Post :

The loading speed of your blog can insist with the number of the post displayed on the home page. Google recommends displaying 10 or fewer posts on the main page. I think 5 to 7 posts are best.  Adding "Read More" function to create post summary with image in the main page / homepage will help you to increase loading speed.

Remove unnecessary code and widget :

Page with a lot of code can load slowly. It also can make errors or make template not working. So remove the unnecessary code from the template.If you've added any custom CSS to your blog, make sure to put it at the top of the page.
Unnecessary or extra widget also decrease the loading speed of your blog.  Actually widget, using Javacript, problems a lot. Sometimes they show error. I recommend to use Google/Blogger widget, JavaScript, links instead of third party content. If you need to use JavaScript, your blog will load faster if you put all JavaScript and links at the bottom of the page.

Optimize Image Before Posting :

Images and videos are the best part of a blog to attract visitors. The more you use images, videos on your blog, it will take longer time to load. So optimize the images is very important. Here are some tips to optimize images.

• Reduce the number of the images make your blog load faster, however, they are important to attract visitors. 
• Use thumbnails instead of large images that link to main/full-size image. Instead of using third party images, upload it to your own server. For blogger we recommend to upload in Picasa Web Album via post blogger editor. 
• You can display a large number of images as album. You can make a photo album on Picasa Web Album.
